Mrs. Betsy Lyddon, who died at Springton yesterday at the age of 97 years, had lived in South Australia for 79 years. Born at Orkney Islands. she came to this State when 18 years old. Her first husband was the late Mr. James Sinclair? (Peter). Practically her whole of her life in Australia was spent in farming areas, first at Mount Barker, then at Mount Crawford. For 60 years she lived at Springton. Her second marriage was to Mr. W. Lyddon,
who also predeceased her. Well known in the Springton district, she was a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Lyddon retained her faculties to within a few days of her death. She has left three sons and three daughters. They are Messrs. William (Cambrai) and John and Peter Lyddon (Springton) and Mesdames W. Watkins (Springton). T. W. Fuller (Dawson), and J. Vigar (Lameroo). The remains of Mrs. Lyddon were buried this afternoon at a cemetery near Mount Pleasant.
