I think that one of the children, Jessie aged 13, may have become the wife of a John Flett, and went on to live in Warnambool ( Western Victoria) for many years. Before her death, though, she shifted to Bunyip ( a tiny spot today ), near Warragul, in Gippsland, Victoria, dying in 1914.
West Gippsland Gazette Tuesday 8th September 1914
An Old Colonist. The announcement of the deathof Mrs John Flett, which occurred.at Bunyip recently, says the Warrnambool "Standard," will be received with regret by many of the older residents of Warrnambool and district, as the deceased lady, prior to her departure for Bunyip, resided here for over 40 years. During that time she was held in high esteem by many residents of the town, particularly those associated with St. John's Presbyterian Church where she was a devout worshipper, and in connection with which body, the members of her family were valued helpers. She was a native of Orkney and came to Victoria in the ill-fated Ticonderoga, arriving in the early fifties. She had a vivid recollection of the appalling events of that voyage during which 200 deaths occurred between Birkenhead and Melbourne. No fewer than seven deaths occurred on one Sunday, and two passengers suffering from brain fever, jumped overboard during the journey. The vessel on arrival was quarantined for three months, and a small cemetery at Point Nepean bears witness to the deaths that occurred after the vessel entered Port Phillip Heads. The deceased lady was the mother of Mr John Flett of this town, who, as in Warrnambool, is one of the "valued helpers" in connection with the Warragul Pres-byterian Church.

There are lots of random Fletts scattered in pockets throughout southern Australia ( including in Tasmania ), so it is really satisfying to have put together (hopefully) one tiny group , whilst simultaneously fortuitously unearthing a few other bits of data which might have a future use.
