Her body was found 10 am on 9th November 1927 in a disused byre (cowshed) on hill ground belonging to the farm of Bu' Parish of Holm. Usual Residence; Highfield Holm. "A death pact is the explanation given in some quarters of the double tragedy which was discovered in a disused cattle house in the parish of Holm, Orkney. This conclusion has been arrived at as the result of statements made by the male victim to acquaintances about his last day on earth, and inquiries by the woman who shared his fate as the exact location of the structure where the bodies of the pair were eventually found. Mrs Marion Louttit Tate, Highfield, Holm, the young, vivacious wife of a farm servant and Roger Pratt farm servant, Bu' Holm, were the couple who figured in the tragedy.
