It appears that after selling their store in Hokitika, Rebecca Allan and her husband William Longman moved to Wanganui, New Zealand in 1889:

For further particulars apply at Longman's Store Stafford Street, Hokitika.
On Papers Past there is an advertisement placed by William Longman for tenders to build the couple's new house in Wanganui, but it looks like the time frame between the couple's move from Hokitika, to their new home being built, then his wife dying, was very short.
William is buried with wife, Rebecca, in the Wanganui Cemetery. Also buried in the Wanganui Cemetery (same row) is an Eleanor Longman, who died in 1904. Eleanor is the daughter of Charles Edwin Longman and Phyllis Ann White, Charles being William Longman's nephew. Eleanor Longman died aged 8 hours (NZ BDM Death Ref. 1904/7543).
