The Bacchus Marsh Express (Vic. : 1866 - 1918) Saturday 4 October 1879 BACCHUS MARSH, BALLAN, &: PENTLAND HILLS AGICULIURAL AND PASTORAL SOCIETY.
The Annual General Meeting was held at Myrniong…Your Committee have to regret that death has again been busy in their midst; Mr. James Muir, one of their most zealous and active members, was suddenly taken away when apparently in the enjoyment of robust health, and your Society thus loses the services of a gentleman whose practical knowledge of farming was only equalled by the intelligence, enthusiasm, and energy he brought to bear on anything calculated to advance your interests.
