News Adelaide Thursday 2nd April 1931 LATE MR. CRAIGIE...Cricketer and Accountant Mr. George Edmund Craigie, of Edwin street, Gilberton, whose death has occurred at the age of 66 years, was formerly employed by the Savings Bank of South Australia for 51 years. He was
accountant there for nine years before his retirement in 1928. Cricket enthusiasts may remember Mr. Craigie, who represented South Australia at that sport about 45 years ago. An excellent batsman and fieldsman, he played for the State in several matches. He was a member of North Adelaide Club. Mr. Craigie was born in Adelaide and educated at Baker's Academy, Gouger street. He was a member of Sturt Bowling Club. He lived at Kingswood before removing to Gilberton. A widower, he has left one daughter, Miss G. Craigie, of Braestead. Brothers and sisters are Messrs. A. L. (Woodville) and J. E. Craigie (Wayville), and Mesdames J. Wiltshire (Torrensville), F. Wilkins (Clarence Park), and Miss E. Craigie
(Torrensville).
