- The Courier Mail Brisbane Monday 29 May 1950; DEATH MILLER Howard Hughes, of Cracow-On 22nd May at Mundubbera Hospital, beloved Husband of Emily and Father of John and Joan (Mrs. J. V Buley) aged 69 years.
Howard Hughes Miller died ( in Queensland ? ) in either May or June 1950 after being manager of the Golden Plateau Mine in Cracow for maybe 20 years. Prior to this ,he was a mine manager at Mathinna in Tasmania.

Mr and Mrs John Miller, Byron Bay, are holidaying with Mr Miller's parents, Mr and Mrs H. Miller, of the Golden Plateau.

Mrs H. H. Miller who, for 24 years, has lived in Cracow, has left to live, in Melbourne with her daughter, Mrs John Buley.
Mrs Miller will be very much missed as she and her husband, now deceased, endeared themselves to all. Mrs Miller was
given an umbrella from the,CWA, a leather bridge set from the Church of England Guild ,and from her close frlends an overnight bag. travelling rug, slippers and stockings, in memory of happy days. On account of her recent bereavement no farewell parties were given.
