- South Australian Register (Adelaide, SA : 1839 - 1900) Saturday 29 October 1887 Floral and Industrial Exhibition.-- The seventeenth annual exhibition in connection with the North Adelaide Juvenile Floral, and Industrial Society in connection with the North Adelaide Congregational Church was held in the Brougham-place Lecture-hall, North Adelaide, on Friday, October 28. With such a favourable season at the present, the show of flowers throughout was very good indeed, both for competitors under and above 12 years of age. In the pot plants section pelargoniums, fuchsias, cinerarias, begonias, and pansies were in great variety, the bloom being exceptionally fine. There were some pretty furnished window-boxes, and basket plants, and several ferns as fresh as fresh could be. The principal prize-takers were May Rainsford, Emma Reedman, Reedman, Mary Tite, and Fred. Rainsford. Cut flowers were well represented, roses especially. Excellent specimens of puke, pansies, verbenas, annuals, pelargoniums, and phlox were exhibited. For cut flowers, the principal prize-takers were Emma Reedman, fula Cottage, Alfred Presgrave, Waiter Lodge, Ellen Beevor, Fred Rainsford, and Lillie Wilmshurst.
